HITHER GREEN
Before
After renovating the house, the back garden had become a dumping ground for the builder’s rubble. My clients needed to replace the grass overshadowed by a neighbour’s oak tree. They needed an entertaining space with some privacy to feel like an extension of their kitchen.
After
A Corten steel fence was erected at the rear against which multi-stemmed birch trees were planted. Privacy was gained by erecting new yellow stock brick walling and cedar trellis. The fixed seating was created in the sunniest part of the garden on Jura Beige limestone and resin bound gravel giving them a large entertaining area. Narrow
borders were filled with bee and butterfly friendly plants to help soften the hard landscaping.
